Sunspot 2473

Roger Samworth

Still frustrated by all this cloud cover, rain etc.

However, managed to track sunspot 2473 over a few days this holiday from the window-sill. It didn't develop as we might have hoped, but the changes in it are still quite interesting.

All the pictures are with a hand-held Compact Canon SX100IS up to the telescope eyepiece in manual mode. Most of the pics are through haze/light cloud. The final one is better, and there was no cloud. It is also a stack of 5 images in Registax 5.

PS Must save up for a H-alpha scope!
