Sun & North American Nebula

Andy Mac 6/7/14

A couple of images made recently. One of the Sun using the filter I bought at the Astro show and one of the North American nebula.

The Sun image was taken using my Canon 5d attached to my Skywatcher Evostar 120mm with solar filter and processed in CS6 to add colour and definition.

The nebula image was taken with my Canon 30d and 70-200 f4 at 176mm( should have been 200mm but turned the zoom slightly instead of the focus when setting up!) with EOS clip filter, mounted on my Vixen GP. It was stacked in DSS and then processed in CS6. Eight times 8min subs. This was unguided and I also managed to get 10min subs using my 400mm f5.6 so am hoping to get some more pictures when it is clear again.

Cheers, Andy Mac.
