NGC3338 & Hickson 44 14/2/2016

Roger Samworth

I was looking at the image I posted of Hickson 44 the other day. I quite like this group as the 4 galaxies are all of different types. On re-examining the raw images it looked as if I had over-done the contrast stretching of the NGC3185 image layer (the galaxy on the far right), losing detail. So, I had another go, and the result is attached. Similarly the image of NGC3338 didn't seem optimum either, so I had another go at that, as it is quite a nice, if somewhat obscure spiral.
