Deep Sky Objects with Phil Dyer video camera

Here are some DSO images from the Virgo/ Coma area from the other night. All were done with the PD camera with the 8” f/10 SCT and focal reducer and processed in GIMP. A couple of interesting things amongst them.

 If you look hard at the image of M86, at about 10 o’clock you can see galaxy PGC40659/VCC882 that has a reported magnitude of 16.7(!). See inset to the picture. Also see:

On the image of M87, you can see the plasma “jet” emanating from the supermassive black hole at its centre. Again, see the inset, and:
