Deep Sky snapshots with the PD camera

Roger Samworth

Unfortunately I am not going to be able to get to the RAG meeting in September, but I thought the group might be interested in the results so far with the PD camera (ZIP file). I have therefore put together a gallery of results over the last month or so since the moon has currently put a stop to deep sky observing. I have called them "snapshots" as they don't really compete with the sort of thing Damian does - but they are fun!

You have to bear in mind that the camera costs a mere 104 or so (or 185 if you buy the frame grabber, cables, 30mm adapter etc)

Generally, they are derived from a few frames taken at the camera's highest sensitivity, stacked, and processed a little with GIMP.
